I use 90% isoprofoal alcohol when cleaning my CPU. Works great getting the compound off the CPU. It works fine and does not cause corrosion.

Alcoholic proof is a measure of how much alcohol (i.eastward., ethanol) is contained in an alcoholic beverage... You could therefore take 120proof alcohol, which is equivalent to 60% alcohol by volume

Merely we use isopropyl (not ethanol) alcohol for comp cleaning, making this little tangent meaningless (unless you filled your cleaning bottle with drinking alcohol

)

That said, 70% and 90% isopropyl are both fine - but difference is faster evaporation in 90% - not much better for actual cleaning... in fact, if yous put it on a rag to clean upward, it'll evaporate besides rapidly IMO (I use 70% for this reason)... your telephone call: stuff that becomes unusable faster or 2 seconds off the fourth dimension information technology takes y'all to slap the TIM back on

That said, lxx% and 90% isopropyl are both fine - only difference is faster evaporation in ninety% (not much meliorate for actual cleaning... in fact, if y'all put it on a rag to clean up, information technology'll evaporate as well quickly IMO - I employ 70% for this reason)
